 Facts to know about breastfeeding

         
  As a mother, you must know some medically proved facts which can help you so much to care your newborn.

  • Breastfeeding must be started immediately or at least within one hour after the birth. The newborn should not be given anything else, not even water.
  • The baby should put to the mother’s breast even before placenta is delivered. It is useful for both the baby as well as the mother.
  • Feeding more often helps in production of more milk. The more the baby sucks more milk produced.
  • Baby should not be given any other liquid or food such as sugar, water, honey, cow’s milk and not even water.
  • Many families think that in some situation as; age of mother, sexual intercourse, Return of menstruation, disapproval of relatives or neighbours, Age of baby, caesarean section or due to simple and ordinary diet, their milk is not enough.

         But, in fact, these do not affect the breast milk supply.
