Hygienic hand-wash’ before touching a newborn...

'Hygienic Hand-wash to keep a baby 'HYGIENIC'
...before touching and caring a newborn.

As a parent you must learn the way by which your newborn baby grows in a safe and hygienic condition. Hygienic hand-wash is one of the important skills of a mother to save her baby from external bacterial or viral infection.

Process of Hygienic Hand-wash:
  • First of all, remove your bangles and wrist-watch and be sure that your all fingers are free from rings or hands are free from any thread-bindings and, your nails are cut, properly.
  • Arrange two buckets of clean and fresh water (drinking water) with a pot to serve and a helper to help you to wash your hands.
  • Now, wet your hands and forearms up to elbow with water.
  • Apply soap and scrub forearms, hands, fingers and nails properly for two minutes, thoroughly, as shown in the pictures, bellow:

  • Rinse with water with help of the helper ( do not touch any pot or anything else to rinse).
  • Let the hands up with a stay to air-dry.
  • Within a few minutes, when your hands become dry, you are now ready to touch the baby.
  • Don’t touch the ground or floor or any other things even your body after washing your hands, unless you complete your baby’s job.
  • The complete hand –wash takes less than ten minutes but it saves your newborn forever.
Note: during the rainy season wetted hands take time to be dried in air. In this condition, you are suggested to use spirit wetted cotton- ball layering your wet hands and fingers to dry.
