 Baby’s normal temperature
At first, try to understand the baby’s body temperature through the picture given below. Trough the picture, you can  understand better the various status of a newborn or a baby’s body temperature.

Note:Temperature in between 97 degree Fahrenheit and 98.6 degree Fahrenheit is normal temperature for a baby.

Measuring baby’s body temperature by Digital Thermometer:
You should have a Digital Thermometer to learn how to measure the temperature of a baby. Normally, we measure the temperature of a baby when we want to know whether the temperature is normal or the baby is getting cold or suffering from fever.

Process of measuring temperature with a Digital Thermometer:
  1. First of all, Wash your hands as ‘Hygienic Hand Wash’.
  2. Take thermometer out of its storage case, hold it at the broad end and clean the shinning tip with Cotton-ball soaked spirit.
  3. Press the given button (at the broad area) once to turn on the thermometer on. First you will see ‘188.8’ flashing in the centre of the display window, then a dash ( - ), than the last temperature taken and then three dashes (- - - ) with a flashing ‘F’ in the upper right corner. Here, flashing ‘F’ is the sign that the thermometer is ready to measure the temperature.
  4. Now, holding with the broad end, place the shining tip in the centre of the armpit of the baby while placing the arm against it. Don’t change the position during the Thermometer is recording temperature.
  5. Now, you will hear a beep sound every four seconds, while the thermometer is recording the temperature. When you hear three short beeps, look at the display. When ‘F’ stops flashing and the number stops changing, remove the Thermometer.
  6. Read the number in the display window.
  7. Record the temperature reading in the record-book.
  8. Turn the thermometer off by pushing the pink button one time.
  9. Clean the shining tip of the thermometer with a cotton ball soaked in sprit.
  10. Place thermometer back in its storage.

  3. Thanks for writing such a detailed post on this topic. Being honest I've never thought that it may be so difficult to measure baby's temperature. Being a parent is such a hard job! I'm always doubting if i'm doing everything in a right way. I advise you to read this article http://www.agsinger.com/7-skills-of-responsible-parents-that-make-a-difference-for-the-child/ in order to find out which skills are essential for responsible parents. Maybe you've got something to add?
